Aims/Goals/What I'm Trying to Do..
Progress Spreadsheet:
I initially mapped out a schedule on my calendar in summer to start animating in December which is an absolute LAUGH. I made this progress sheet at the beginning of September and kind of keep forgetting to update it, but it's a nice constant burning reminder of everything that needs done..
I've realised it's quite hard to dictate an exact time that pre-production things will be done (e.g storyboarding is always kind of ongoing) but this kind of thing might be useful for animating, like a 'shot schedule')
- Content: glitchy, neon/glow, dark, sensitive subject matter, delicate characters, mutations, atmospheric
- Create a short main film (3-5 minutes at the most) - mix of elements including stop motion, vfx, photography or live-action
- As I'm only imagining my film being around the shorter end, I'm keen to create shorter ‘gif’ style works around the 'virus' theme (maybe during 10x10) - thinking 'infected' creature studies to work on character design and general animation skills or projection mapping ‘virus mutations’ onto real environments/people (I'd ideally love to do both but need to concentrate on actually getting the film done first)
- Sketchbook, blog and use social media (Instagram) to record progress and get better at sharing my work online
- Enter film festivals and build a portfolio for applications and internships (which is why the above thingy is important I suppose)
- Aim to finish by start of April 2018 (incase anything goes wrong, which it inevitably will..)
